a short introduction (not so short lol)

I know I have been slacking a lot with blogging but I feel that now is as good as time as any to start and I am actually really excited about sharing some of my viewpoints and thoughts. Even though I haven't been writing anything myself I have been reading a lot of blogs with great interest and it's really nice to get to know people especially since we are a whole new group this semester.
I would like to start with introducing myself a little. My name is Manuela Leitner, my friends usually call me mau. That's mainly because I used to make these weird cat noises in school (I'm over that now) and people thought it was shorter than manu which is fair enough. I'm living in a little idyllic village south of Graz and even though we have a really nice garden with pool I am more of a city person. I don't like the way small villages turn into ghost towns on weekends or at night and I'm not a fan travelling for 10 minutes to get to the nearest shop.
I love watching TV shows, always have - always will. The cheesier the storyline the better for me. I especially like soaps because I just want to watch TRUE LOVE blossom on TV!!! :))) Seriously though, my friends think I have the worst taste in shows and movies anyone has ever had but it doesn't bother me. After all TV is supposed to be entertainment and you just can't take this stuff too seriously. Over the last week I have watched about 15 episodes of "One Tree Hill" and a friend of mine asked me what happened. The basic run-down summary of content would include: one person almost died, one person got married, two couples broke up, two people cheated on their partner, three fistfights and a new love. Honestly though, I'm a big fan of obvious storylines.
As what hobbies goes I would consider myself a gamer. I love playing computer games and I'm really competitive. I like both MMOs (espeically World of Warcraft) and MOBAs (Heroes of Newerth, DotA) and I would say I'm pretty good at it.
I'm really picky with food. There is so many things I don't really eat even though I haven't tried most. If something looks kind of fishy I won't try it. This wasn't a play on words; I actually like fish. :) Sushi is my favorite dish everrrrrrr and I love being in London because next to my friends house where I usually reside there is a really cheap sushi place and its awesome!
I'm in London a lot. I absolutely love the city. There is so many people that you never really feel alone. I love the language and the accent. I don't really mind that its raining and shitty, depressing weather most of the year. In my opinion it's definitely the best place to be. The city never sleeps and it's got all these beautiful buildings. It's like a melting pot of different cultures and you can hear all kinds of different languages when you're walking down the streets.
As for what personality goes I like to have fun. I think more things should be about fun and less about doing what you have to do. This I guess is also one of the reasons I like to slack a lot. There is always something fun to do when you are trying to do homework or study. People say I'm quite opinionated. I don't think that's a bad thing. I feel like if you care about something a lot it's a lot more rewarding than if you just let it go by. I don't like people who let you down and I don't really forgive if someone does something unjust.

On a lighter note though: I love penguins. They are so cute. :DD
